Supporting programs that strengthen our legal system and our community.

Through its annual grant program, the Evansville Bar Foundation provides financial support to organizations and initiatives whose work aligns with the Foundation’s mission.

The Foundation focuses its grantmaking in four primary areas:

• Promoting public understanding of the law and greater awareness of our legal system.
• Improving access to legal services for the community, particularly indigent and vulnerable individuals.
• Strengthening the legal profession through programs that enhance lawyers’ professional qualifications and ethical responsibilities.
• Advancing the administration of justice in our community.

Annual Grant Cycle

The Foundation accepts grant applications each year from July 1 through July 31 for programs and initiatives to be funded the following year. Grant recipients are selected and awards are announced in September.

Special Funding Requests

Need doesn’t always follow the grant calendar. Emergency or special funding requests of up to $2,500 may be submitted at any time throughout the year. Download the Special Funding Request to learn more and apply.
