Indiana CLE Requirements

Indiana attorneys and judges must complete at least six hours of approved CLE each year, for a total of at least 36 hours during each three-year reporting cycle. Within that three-year cycle, at least three hours must be devoted to ethics.

Newly admitted attorneys have an additional requirement during their first three-year cycle: they must complete an approved Applied Professionalism program in place of the three-hour ethics requirement.

I recently attended an EBA seminar. Why isn't the credit showing on my record?

The Evansville Bar Association reports CLE attendance to the Indiana Office of Admissions and Continuing Education within 30 days following the seminar, consistent with the Commission's recommended reporting timeline. Your registration fee must be paid in full before the EBA can report your CLE credit.

Once the EBA submits the credits, please allow an additional two to three weeks for the Commission to process and post them to your record.

I attended an EBA seminar but need CLE credit in another state. What do I do?

EBA CLE programs are approved for credit in Indiana. If you need credit in another state, you are responsible for submitting the program to that state's CLE accrediting organization and meeting its requirements.
