Talk to a Lawyer Hotline An hour and a half of your time can make a real difference. The Talk to a Lawyer Hotline connects Southern Indiana residents with volunteer legal professionals who can answer brief civil legal questions, provide general guidance, and help callers identify their next steps. The program is administered by the Volunteer Lawyer Program of Southwestern Indiana, in partnership with the EBA and with support from the Evansville Bar Foundation. When is the Hotline? Talk to a Lawyer is offered twice each month:
Volunteer EBA attorney and paralegal members are encouraged to volunteer. You don’t have to know the answer to every question—you simply bring your experience and a willingness to help. Volunteers assist callers with a variety of civil legal questions, and when an issue can’t be resolved through brief advice, callers can be directed to additional resources. Whether you volunteer once or make Talk to a Lawyer a regular part of your pro bono service, your time helps expand access to legal assistance in our community. Ready to help?
