"How the ADA and Individuals with Disabilities Can Make Employers More Productive" This course offers attendees an overview and purpose of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 ("ADA"), with an emphasis on Title I of the ADA; Understanding what "qualified individuals with disabilities" means for employers; Pre-employment considerations: advertising, job descriptions, job applications, interviewing, and medical inquiries; Retaliation claims under the ADA; Identifying "reasonable accommodations" that maintain (if not improve) productivity; Using job descriptions and business needs to help guide the interactive process with the individual who requests an accommodation; and, How individuals with disabilities increase productivity, improve safety, and raise morale in the workplace.
