Each Local Office Attorney (LOA) provides legal advice and legal services to county offices and other DCS staff on juvenile law matters relating to all manners of child welfare. The LOA will be responsible for representing the State in trial work regarding Child In Need of Services (CHINS) cases, Termination of Parental Rights (TPR), adoptions, foster care licensing actions, and other general legal issues relating to the safety of children. The LOA also represents and assists the DCS in administrative appeal matters. Minimum salary for this classification is $61,022, with additional compensation awarded commensurate with years as a practicing attorney.
